The destination of the present Information System is the evidence and visualization of the research, development & innovation indicators from the Republic of Moldova. It was implemented within institutional project “Information support development for scientometric researches in the Republic of Moldova – (InfoScientic)”, financed by the Academy of Sciences of Moldova during 2013-2014.

The primary data were collected from national and international available sources where relevant information for calculation of indicators was found. In order to obtain the precise values of indicators the primary data are processed only after identification and specification of the calculation methodology or estimation of the corresponding indicators.

As methodological sources OECD methodological manuals (in special Frascati Manual), EUROSTAT, UNESCO, other calculation methodologies of international and national offices and structures were used. As result, for every indicator is presented the methodology of calculation that corresponds to the applied / recognized methodology, as well as primary data sources.

The System is designed in special to decision makers of research, development & innovation system and can serve as analytical and information support in decision-making regarding implementation and monitoring R&D&I policies. At the same time the System can be used by other people interested in national R&D&I system problems.
